FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
Modular homes are built to the IRC ( International Residential Code) BOCA and other building codes all of which are shared by site built homes. Modular Homes are built to the same specifications as a site built home and are treated as such by financial institutions. Mobile Homes are built to HUD code which is the code that governs all manufactured housing. The frame it is built on remains an integral part of the home after set-up and is traditionally put on a concrete slab.
Yes! Nearly all of our home designs can be customized and we encourage you to make your home your own. Modular homes support extensive customization and changes to the floor plan. Mobile homes do not allow for as many changes to the floor plan itself, but the features within the home are open to change. Please note that changes to the design will change the price of the home. Call your rep for more details.
Construction time varies. The exact amount of time depends on the size and complexity of your home and the time of year, but you will receive a more accurate estimate when you inquire about a particular home. We’re proud to be able to construct homes 12 months out of the year!
When you order a home from Atlantic Home Solutions, there’s no clause that says “some assembly required!” We take care of delivering the unit to your chosen site, providing the cranes and crews to assemble it on your foundation, finishing the interior – including preparation of electrical features such as lights and smoke detectors – and installing the support columns in the basement that will ensure the structural integrity of any modular home that will be going over a basement.
Yes! Every home we offer comes with a comprehensive one-year limited warranty and in some cases, an additional 10-year structural warranty covering any major structural defects. Individual components of your home, such as the appliances, window, and roof may also have manufacturers warranties. We have full confidence in the quality of our homes and back every one we sell.
Yes! Contrary to popular thought, modular homes are built using the same codes that apply to every other house in Maine. That means your roof, structural strength, insulation, electricity, plumbing, and all other components are as ready to last the winter as they would be in any other home. We’ve been selling homes across the Northeast for over 10 winters and we’ve seen a lot of weather. Invariably, our homes have kept their residents safe and comfortable in all seasons!
From time to time we do have packages that include a home and land together in several wonderful communities in Auburn. Call us for more information at (207) 786-4016 or contact us via the contact page.
